A few words from myself: Marion  (Mimi)  Knights

I am an established family business, starting during 1970.

Being a horsey person myself, with my parents running our local Show Jumping and Gymkhanas, we found it very hard  to obtain rosettes at short notice, with running shows every Sunday during the 70’s.   We came to the conclusion of producing rosettes for our own Horse Shows and Gymkhanas.

My Dad, (Bob Knights) who made the trophies and engraved them until his death,  travelled hundreds of miles to obtain the machines, equipment,  ribbons etc needed.  I spent very little time at school... my Dad was even fined £10 for me not attending!  This was because we were too busy making rosettes!

My Nanny produced our First Rosettes, for our Norfolk “Horse of the Year Show”.  Being hand stitched and made from velvet. Some of which are still in existence.

My 1^st pleating machine was an old manual machine, with a gas bottle to heatset the ribbon as it was pleated and then I had to machine sew the pleats in . Times have changed, as I now own an automatic pleating machines.

I take pride in my work, each rosette is hand made – machine stitched NOT glued as cheaper versions.
